Everyday

The book Everyday by David Levithan is a little bit of a different book, that I'm not sure if I would recommend. Yes it has a cool story line, but the way that it sorta goes about it, is a little different.


So basically it's about this person, (A Boy?) who wakes up in a different body everyday. It's (His) name is A, and every single day he is someone different. Sometimes it's a girl body, sometimes it's a boy body. A has gotten used to this lifestyle and just goes about it the same way each day....try not to do anything drastic, and just let the person have a normal day. Then one day he meets Rhiannon, and A's life is changed forever. A wants to be with her. So he tells her his secret...
So I know that's a really awkward way to end a summary, but I don't know how to end it any different without ruining the ending! Haha!! So anyways the story line seems legit, but I really wasn't impressed. There was a lot of same gender attraction stuff in there. Because A was in a different body everyday, he didn't really like one certain gender better than the other... which gave the book a lot of wrong scenes... Wrong as in girls should not be going on dates together... same as boys shouldn't be going out with boys. Which there definitely was  in this book. Also it talked some of like drugs and alcohol, and like I said, I just wasn't impressed. I feel like this story could have been written much cleaner and it would have made it a better book.

Rate: Probably PG13, maybe R
     I wouldn't necessarily say it's an R rated book, but I still wouldn't recommend it..

       Probably Goodbye.. I mean if you don't care about all that stuff, go right ahead and read it.. 
       but I don't like the books I read to be full of that junk.. maybe that's just me though... 



NITTY GRITTY:
Alright so honestly I couldn't tell you to just skip pages whatever to whatever, because it really is throughout the whole book. It talks a lot about same gender attraction and drugs, so if you or your kid don't feel comfortable reading that type of stuff, (like me) I promise you're not missing out on that  much... 
There isn't any sex scenes, but it just has same gender attraction stuff, and to me that is not okay.
