Hunger Games

Ah, the infamous Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
While I read the series, I absolutely loved them, they captured my attention, and held it the entire series. The story line was good, there was a cute love story, honestly I really enjoyed them. However, when you really take a step back, and really look at the series for what it is, it isn't good. Yes it was very well written & very entertaining, but kids killing each other? Is that really something we should all be wanting to read about and enjoy? This is such a toughy because it is very well written, but I don't think I would recommend it. I want to recommend it because I enjoyed it, but that's the whole point of this blog. Either it's good & clean, or you need to say goodbye. It would be going against my integrity to recommend it to you.

Summary from: http://www.suzannecollinsbooks.com/works.htm
Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be North America. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When her sister is chosen by lottery, Katniss steps up to go in her place.

Few cuss words, but too much violence
GOOD OR GOODBYE?
       I would say GOODBYE

NITTY GRITTY:
There are only a few cuss words, if I remember correctly, however there was just so much violence. Kids kill each other throughout the whole series.
THANK YOU FOR READING!
