A Kiss in Time

A Kiss in Time by Alex Flinn.
(Same author as Beastly)

Funny story, I was looking in the library for a new book to read and review for you guys, and I checked out this book -- A Kiss in Time. & I was thinking "oh perfect!" Well turns out I have already read this book & didn't like it because it was baaaad! Hahah so oops. Here's the review for it anyways :-)
Also, since I don't think I could give the book much justice myself, I will just use the review from https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5266667-a-kiss-in-time?from_search=true&search_version=service :

"Talia fell under a spell...Jack broke the curse.

T: I was told to beware the accursed spindle, but it was so enchanting, so hypnotic...
J: I was looking for a little adventure the day I ditched my tour group. But finding a comatose town, with a hot-looking chick asleep in it, was so not what I had in mind.
T: I awakened in the same place but in another time—to a stranger's soft kiss.
J: I couldn't help kissing her. Sometimes you just have to kiss someone. I didn't know this would happen.
T: Now I am in dire trouble because my father, the king, says I have brought ruin upon our country. I have no choice but to run away with this commoner!
J: Now I'm stuck with a bratty princess and a trunk full of her jewels...The good news: My parents will freak!

Think you have dating issues? Try locking lips with a snoozing stunner who turns out to be 316 years old. Can a kiss transcend all—even time?"

Obviously this book sounds cute, like maybe a little romantic, and obviously full of comedy. I was suppppperrrr excited to read it, but then suppperrrrr disappointed when I read it. I was definitely not expecting there to be drinking, partying, sexuality, and cussing. & yet there it was. I would not recommend.

Fangirl

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
I picked up this book in my local library, and thought oh how cute! I know I am definitely a fangirl for a lot of books, and I just had to give the book a try. Don't.. I didn't even read it all the way through. There was so much cussing. Like honestly... authors are supposed to be smart and good writers, who are creative. If they can't come up with better, more creative, clean words to say, then their book is not worth my (or your) time.
Since I barely read the book, the summary is from https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16068905-fangirl?ac=1https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16068905-fangirl?ac=1
"Cath is a Simon Snow fan.
Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan...
But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving.
Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.
Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to.
Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words... And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone.
For Cath, the question is: Can she do this?
Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories?
And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?"

So much cussing.... legit full of it...

Let it Snow

Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle
One of my wonderful followers asked me to review this book for her, so she would know whether or not to read this book & so this one is for her! (And all of you ;))
Let it Snow is a book with 3 short stories by 3 different authors. All of the stories all go along with each other!
Each of the short stories have a cute little romance & christmas holiday filled plot. Also I like how they all have pieces that fit together. However each of the 3 books had lots of cuss words. There was a lot of make outs & just bad language. I wouldn't recommended this book.

Let it Snow uses the A,S,D and H words. Also it talks about kissing & makeouts. & some content leaning towards inappropriate (mentions strippers, cheating on boyfriends, etc) Honestly it isn't terrible content though, except for the cussing. That's the main fault.

THANKS FOR READING!!

Switched & Wake

I got Switched and Wake (totally separate books, same author) the other day at the library, and had to put them down. Again, disappointed.

SWITCHED:

"When Wendy Everly was six years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. Eleven years later, Wendy discovers her mother might have been right. She’s not the person she’s always believed herself to be, and her whole life begins to unravel—all because of Finn Holmes.

Mysterious Finn always seems to be watching her. Every encounter leaves her deeply shaken…though it has more to do with her fierce attraction to him than she’d ever admit. But it isn’t long before he reveals the truth: Wendy is a changeling who was switched at birth—and he’s come to take her home.
Now Wendy’s about to journey to a magical world she never knew existed, one that’s both beautiful and frightening. And where she must leave her old life behind to discover who she’s meant to become…" (from http://amandahocking.blogspot.com/p/short-stories-etc.html)

Cussed so much I didn't even finish reading it. Don't even start it.

WAKE:
"Gorgeous. Fearless. Dangerous. They're the kind of girls you envy; the kind of girls you want to hate. Strangers in town for the summer, Penn, Lexi and Thea have caught everyone's attention—but it’s Gemma who’s attracted theirs. She’s the one they’ve chosen to be part of their group.
Gemma seems to have it all—she’s carefree, pretty, and falling in love with Alex, the boy next door. He’s always been just a friend, but this summer they’ve taken their relationship to the next level, and now there’s no going back. Then one night, Gemma’s ordinary life changes forever. She’s taking a late night swim under the stars when she finds Penn, Lexi and Thea partying on the cove. They invite her to join them, and the next morning she wakes up on the beach feeling groggy and sick, knowing something is different.
Suddenly Gemma is stronger, faster, and more beautiful than ever. But her new powers come with a terrifying price. And as she uncovers the truth, she’s is forced to choose between staying with those she loves—or entering a new world brimming with dark hungers and unimaginable secrets."

Same as other one.. I don't recommend either of these series.

Eve & Adam

So the other day I started reading Eve & Adam by Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate, and I was sooooo disappointed. It started up the cussing on the second page. When I say it cusses a ton, I am not exaggerating. It cusses about once or twice a page...

"And then there was a car crash, a horrible injury, and a hospital. But before Evening Spiker’s head clears a strange boy named Solo is rushing her to her mother’s research facility. There, under the best care available, Eve is left alone to heal.
Just when Eve thinks she will die—not from her injuries, but from boredom—her mother gives her a special project: Create the perfect boy.
Using an amazingly detailed simulation, Eve starts building a boy from the ground up. Eve is creating Adam. And he will be just perfect... won’t he?" (from https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13493463-eve-adam)
AH SOUNDS SO GOOD BUT DON'T READ! THE LANGUAGE IS TERRIBLE.

The Fault in our Stars

Today's review is on the Fault in our Stars by John Green. This has become a very popular book, (and movie) and although I liked the story line, I wasn't really all that impressed. Yes, the story line was great, however I remember alot of cussing, and a sex scene. I started reading it because it had been recommended to me many times. However I would not recommend it.

The story is about a girl named Hazel Grace who has cancer. Her lungs don't work very well, and she's just got lots of health problems. At a support group she is forced to go to, she meets Augustus Waters. They soon become friends, and more. Hazel recommends her favorite book to Augustus, and her love for the author. This book doesn't have an ending though, so together the fantasize how it might have ended. Hazel and Augustus talk alot about their "wish" the one that everyone is entitled to have before they die. And after consulting the author of Hazel's favorite book, Hazel and Augustus travel to Amsterdam to see the famous author. Along the way, Hazel and Augustus fall in love, and find things they wish they never knew.....
Anyways, the Fault in our Stars is okay, but I don't recommend it.
Rate: PG13 book, going on R.
For the cussing and sex scene.
Good or goodbye?
sadly.. goodbye. I don't really recommend.

The nitty gritties for parents:
Honestly I read this book a couple months ago, so I don't remember exactly which words were used or what pages the sex scene was on. The sex scene was during the trip to Amsterdam (which is all i remember) :)

THANKS FOR READING :))) LOVE YALL
