Michael Vey: The Rise of the Elgen

Michael Vey: The Rise of the Elgen by Richard Paul Evans
(book number 2)

Alright, so first of all, I didn't like this one quite as much as I liked the first book. Mainly because it was a lot more violent. More on that later....

Michael Vey escaped the academy. But he isn't quite done with the Elgen. They still have his mom. When Michael and the "Electroclan" (the others who escaped) head back to Idaho to plan their next move, things start to get shaken up even more. They learn that Michael's mother is in Peru, being held at an Elgen base with over 2,000 guards. Not only are the odds impossible, but it looks like the Elgen aren't stopping with just the Academy. They are going to take over the world. Only the Electroclan stands in the way of the Elgen, but can they possibly face this powerful company and get back Michael's mom, or are they all doomed a terrible death?

Okay, so I LOVED the first one. The Prisoner of Cell 25 was very captivating and not too violent. There were no swear words & nothing sexual at all. However, this one is more violent than the first. Which if you don't mind violence isn't a problem. BUTTT I still think it's a little goryish ;)

Rate: PG13
Moderately Violent, but no swear words
GOOD OR GOODBYE?
   I would still say GOOD

NITTY GRITTY:
Like I said above, there are no cuss words or sexuality.
However, there is more violence than the first. My 11 year old brother actually read these books before me and loves them, so the violence isn't too over the top. But it was still enough to mention :)
